World Cancer Day February 4th is an initiative of UICC that aims to prevent millions of deaths each year by shedding light on Cancer control and raising awareness and education on a disease that is curable if detected early.

In commemoration of this day, Thinking Pink held a Press conference at Orange SL- Head Office, Hill Station to shed light on the Disparities of Cancer care in Sierra Leone. The theme for the three-years campaign is: #CloseTheCareGap

Thinking Pink Breast Cancer Foundation is a full member of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC).

Thank you to the press for helping us raise the level of awareness Nationwide.

We appreciate our eloquent speakers; Dr. Valerie John Cole (Consultant DB/GYN-PCMH), Dr. Manal Ghazzawi (Specialist Pharmacist/CEO CitiGlobe Pharmacies Ltd.), Dr. Ruth Taylor (MD Connaught Hospital), Ms. Iye Brima (Ecomed), Nurse Lucy Karim (Thinking Pink), Oncological Nurse Kadija Konneh and Nurse Patience Sankoh (Palliative Care). They presented on:

  • Innovative Partnership
  • Gaps associated with Cancer treatment pathway
  • Cancer prevention and Control should be a National priority, especially in Low Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) where we lack priority in Non Communicable diseases (NCDs).
  • Bridge the Care gap
