Awareness Campaign & Screening @ The House of Parliament

In commemoration of International Women’s Day 2022. #BreakTheBias Thinking Pink Breast Cancer Foundation took the concern to The House of Parliament on March 7th. It engaged lawmakers in an Advocacy Campaign about the inequities and gaps in Cancer Care in Sierra Leone. Only one functioning Mammogram Machine, No Radiotherapy except you travel to the sub-region or India which has astronomical charges: (Air travel, treatment cost, lodging, feeding, care, transportation, etc.) Cancer is on the rise and our Data is alarming!

We wish to thank our distinguished guests & partners for their contribution: Dr. Valarie John-Cole, OB-GYN at PCMH for partnership in the Cancer fight, focusing on Cervical and Prostate Cancer.

We are also grateful to Dr. Manal at CITIGLOBE for her unflinching support in raising awareness about Diabetes and offering free Screening.

Mrs. Mamusu Conteh – Jones a psychosocial therapist also partnered with us to raise awareness about Mental Health Issues and Survivorship post Mastectomy Surgery.

We are grateful to our Honourable MPs for giving us their precious time amidst their busy schedule and we will continue to engage them for results.
